Fiona has been a rural GP in Aotearoa, New Zealand for over 20 years, having originally trained and worked rurally in the UK. Originally a GP practice owner in Raglan, she is now living and working in the Coromandel Peninsula. She has been the chair of Hauora Taiwhenua Rural Health Network since its inception and prior to that had been the chair of the New Zealand Rural General Practice Network. She is committed to accessible, sustainable, and resilient health services in rural communities which result in equity in health outcomes for rural people.
